If you’re a BlackBerry fan living in Indonesia and wish to purchase the latest Z3 smartphone launched by the Canadian company, then you will have to wait until the next shipment of units arrives in the country.

According to BlackBerry, the Z3 sold out in Jakarta in the first days of sales. The affordable smartphone was launched in Indonesia on May 16 and it was only available at BlackBerry’s store in Central Park Mall in west Jakarta.

Those unable to secure their orders on Friday were left empty handed over the weekend as well due to the fact that BlackBerry had sold all Z3 units in stock. BlackBerry officials claim that Z3 sales were several times stronger than for any of the previous BlackBerry 10 devices launched in the country.

For the time being, it’s unclear how many Z3 units BlackBerry managed to sell in Jakarta on Friday, but the good news for the Canadian company is that all retailers across Indonesia have reported that they had also sold out all the pre-orders two weeks before the smartphone was even launched in the county.

Once again, no figures have been forwarded, but given the fact that several authorized retailers have confirmed that they have sold all BlackBerry Z3 pre-orders, it surely looks like the smartphone is off to a good start in Asia.

BlackBerry has announced that the Z3 will be introduced in other countries as well, but it has not disclosed details like when and where the smartphone will be available for purchase.

The cheapest smartphone powered by BlackBerry 10 OS, the Z3 has been released in Indonesia for only IDR 2,199,000 ($190/€140) outright. It’s also worth mentioning that BlackBerry has launched the Jakarta Edition of the Z3 exclusively in Indonesia.

For those unfamiliar with the Z3’s specs sheet, here is a quick recap. The smartphone ships with BlackBerry 10.2.1 operating system out of the box and packs a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor inside.

It sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and offers both HSPA+ and Wi-Fi connectivity options.

Furthermore, BlackBerry Z3 features 1.5GB of RAM and only 8GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

The Z3 also packs a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary 1.1-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

BlackBerry has confirmed that the Z3 is powered by a high-capacity 2500 mAh non-removable battery, which is rated by the Canadian company for up to 384 hours of standby time or up to 15.5 hours of talk time.
