Today, Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry has officially announced the upcoming availability of its BlackBerry Z3 smartphone in Hong Kong.

The handset will land on this market on July 8 and will be put up for grabs through wireless carrier 3 Hong Kong, as well as via a series of local retailers, such as Broadway, Fortress, Wilson, Suning, Chung Yuen, Nuance Watson and CMK, as CrackBerry notes.

Unfortunately, info on the handset’s pricing in Hong Kong appears to be missing at the moment, though all on the matter should become official in the coming days, or early next week.

“Hong Kong is a key market for us and we are excited to be working with our partners to bring in the BlackBerry Z3 to customers here,” Gallant Leon, managing director for Hong Kong and Taiwan at BlackBerry says.

“This device gives users more ways to connect, share and communicate, providing the best tool for secure, reliable communications and collaboration with friends, family and co-workers.”

“Priced affordably, the BlackBerry Z3 will extend the full capabilities of the BlackBerry 10 Operating System version 10.2.1 experience for a new generation of customers in Hong Kong," he also adds.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the BlackBerry Z3 was made official in early 2014 as a highly affordable BlackBerry 10 device, aimed mainly at emerging markets out there.

However, despite that, the new mobile phone comes to shelves with a nice range of highly appealing features, and should be capable of providing users on a budget with decent performance capabilities.

The handset arrives on shelves with a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 540 x 960 pixels resolution, while being powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 graphics.

Moreover, the smartphone features 1.5GB of RAM, along with 8GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of external storage space.

BlackBerry Z3 was also announced with support for HSPA+ networks, as well as with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity inside, Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, and a built-in GPS receiver.

On the back, the handset sports a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and full HD video recording capabilities, while also featuring a 1.1MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

There’s also a Li-Ion 2500mAh battery powering the BlackBerry Z3, capable of providing users with up to 15 hours and 30 minutes of talk time, or with up to 384 hours of standby time.
