Starting today, mobile phone users in the Philippines can purchase a brand new BlackBerry smartphone in their country, none other than the BlackBerry Z3, which is also the cheapest handset that the Canadian mobile phone maker has launched with the BB 10 OS loaded on top.

The smartphone is now available for purchase through various authorized retailers in this market, with a price tag of 10,990 Pesos attached to it, which translates into around $252 / €187, as BerryReview notes.

The BlackBerry Z3 was made official in early 2014 as the handset vendor’s take on the fast growing entry-level smartphone market and was designed specifically at emerging markets out there.

The handset was launched in Indonesia first, but BlackBerry has been working with retailers in other territories for the release of this device, and the Philippines is the latest country to have received it.

The mobile phone arrives with a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 540 x 960 pixels resolution, with a pixel density of 220ppi.

The handset is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8230 Snapdragon 400 paired with 1.5GB of RAM, which should provide users with pretty decent performance capabilities while on the go.

Moreover, the phone features 8GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the phone features a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, capable of recording videos in full HD resolution, which is paired with a 1.1MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

BlackBerry Z3 also arrives on the market with support for HSPA+ networks, as well as with the usual Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, and microUSB v2.0 port.

Moreover, it features accelerometer and proximity sensor, along with Adreno 305 graphics, FM radio, and built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS.

The mobile phone is powered by a 2500mAh battery that can deliver up to 15 hours and 30 minutes of talk time or up to 384 hours of standby time.

Overall, BlackBerry Z3 should prove a great option for a lot of users out there, despite the fact that it offers only entry-level hardware to them.

In fact, the device has already managed to prove highly popular in the markets where it was launched, and chances are that it will make a splash in the Philippines as well.
