Here is some good news for BlackBerry fans in India. It appears that the Canadian company is finally ready to launch its most affordable BlackBerry 10 smartphone, the Z3, in other countries.

Initially released in Indonesia, the BlackBerry Z3 has been confirmed to arrive in other countries at some point, but the handset maker did not share specific details on when and where it will launch the smartphone next.

Well, it looks like the next country to get the cheap BlackBerry Z3 is India. At least that’s what fonearena claims, as the Indian blog has just been invited to a launch event where the Canadian company is set to release “the next generation BlackBerry 10 device.”

Considering that most of the BlackBerry 10 smartphones already made their debut in India a long time ago, we can safely assume that it now plans to launch the Z3.

The launch event is scheduled for June 25, though it’s unclear whether or not the smartphone will be available for purchase the same day it is unveiled.

One thing is certain, Indian customers will not be able to grab the Jakarta Edition of the Z3, which is exclusively available in Indonesia, as a token of appreciation for BlackBerry fans in this country.

Obviously, there are no details on the smartphone’s price tag, but it’s also worth mentioning that BlackBerry Z3 is available in Indonesia for IDR 2,199,000 outright, which is about Rs 11,500 ($190 / €140).

Moving on to the specs, the Z3 might be the cheapest BlackBerry 10 smartphone available on the market, but at the expense of hardware power.

The smartphone is equipped with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 1.5GB of RAM.

The Z3 packs only 8GB of internal memory, which is the standard for a budget-friendly smartphone. However, users can further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

Furthermore, BlackBerry Z3 sports a large 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution. It also features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

The smartphone also packs a secondary 1.1-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The front camera can also capture HD (720p) videos.

Last but not least, the Z3 offers a plethora of connectivity options, including HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB, NFC (Near Field Communication) and GPS with A-GPS support. Keep in mind that BlackBerry Z3 does not feature dual-SIM capability.
