Owners of BlackBerry Z10 and Z30 smartphones out there can now take advantage of a new entertainment application on their devices, namely Sony LIV.

The software was designed to allow users to access videos from their Sony Entertainment Network channels, such as Sony, SAB, and MAX.

Sony LIV arrives on BlackBerry 10 smartphones as the mobile client for Sony Entertainment Network's video-on-demand service, promising a great viewing experience for all those who will take it for a spin.

“You can also re- LIV the Classics and travel back in time to watch the 1st ever episode of your favorite Sony Television shows like Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin, Aahat, CID, Bade Acche Lagte Hain, Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah, Crime Patrol, Office Office and a lot more,” Sony notes.

The application also provides users with access to shorter duration episodes/videos, which are called “Quickisodes,” and which include Comedy and Thriller genre shows.

There are four main features that Sony LIV comes with to provide users with a great experience while on the go, namely Mood wheel, My Q, LIV Gurus, and Single sign-on.

“With the Mood wheel, you can search for videos based on your mood. Just spin and pick,” Sony explains.

“With My Q, you can make a playlist of videos you want to watch. No more distractions and no more wasting time. Click on the + sign, Q-up, sit back and watch uninterrupted videos.”

For those out of the loop, we should note that a LIV guru is Sony's Frequent Flyer Program for videos, rewarding users with points for every minute they spend on Sony LIV.

As for Single sign-on, it was designed to ensure that users’ Playlists, Likes, and Shows are synced on all of their devices, based on a single sign-on.

You can download Sony LIV for BlackBerry 10 smartphones (Z1 and Z30 only) from Softpedia today, completely free. Access to Sony's service, however, might require signing up for a premium account.
