BlackBerry Z10, the first smartphone to arrive on shelves with the new BlackBerry 10 operating system, should receive a platform upgrade in the not too distant future, and a leaked build is already available for download.

The new platform update has emerged online as OS 10.1.0.1483, and is said to be compatible with BlackBerry Z10 models STL100-2, STL100-3, and STL100-4. Those who own a BlackBerry Z10 STL100-1 flavor should not try installing it on their devices.

The leaked build should provide users with a solid experience, though it won't see support from the mobile phone maker.

Users should keep in mind that this is not an official release for their devices, although the platform is expected to start being pushed to Z10 handsets out there in the coming weeks, soon after the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone arrives on shelves.
