Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry has lowered the price tag for its BlackBerry Z10 smartphone in India, providing users with the possibility to purchase it at only Rs 30,000 ($480 / €356) now.

The latest price cut seen by the mobile phone was of Rs. 11,000 ($176 / €130), which means that the handset vendor lowered its cost by 25 percent.

The move comes soon after BlackBerry announced plans to make the newly announced BlackBerry Z30 its new flagship device and to lower Z10’s cost to make it available for more users out there.

As BGR India reports, BlackBerry Q5 remains the most affordable BlackBerry 10 device in India at the moment, with a price tag of only Rs 24,000 ($384 / €285) attached to it.

BlackBerry hopes to increase sales of Z10 with the announced price cut, though it remains to be seen whether this will indeed happen.
