Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion announced a while ago that it would soon launch a new accessory for its BlackBerry devices, and now the product is already available for purchase. Dubbed HS-500, the new Bluetooth Headset for BlackBerry comes to the market with enhanced connectivity with RIM's BlackBerry devices, the company says.

“Get the freedom of hands-free calling with the easy-to-use BlackBerry Wireless Headset HS-500. With the simple touch of a button, you can answer, end, and mute calls, or activate voice dialing, even while you’re juggling your keys and coffee in the morning. Plus, the volume automatically adjusts and background noise is reduced, so your calls and turn-by-turn directions can be heard loud and clear in noisy environments. With the quality and performance you expect from a BlackBerry product, the BlackBerry Wireless Headset HS-500 fits your life so you can hit the road with confidence.”

The first-party accessory comes towards BlackBerry users with a variety of attractive features, including the presence of a call control button, which enables them to control features like answer, end or mute, as well as the voice activated dialing option, all possible through the press of a single button. At the same time, the headset also comes with automatic volume control and noise cancellation so that users can benefit from high-quality sound at all times.

Another important feature of the new BlackBerry Wireless Headset HS-500 is the fact that it can be used with selected third-party GPS mapping applications, offering users the possibility to listen to turn-by-turn directions. The price tag of the device has been set at US $79.99, and it can be used with BlackBerry Storm 9500, BlackBerry Storm 9530, BlackBerry Tour 9630, BlackBerry Curve 8520, BlackBerry Curve 8900, BlackBerry 9000, and other BlackBerry smartphones.
