Research In Motion, one of the global leaders in wireless innovation, and Smart Telecom, a national mobile operator, have announced the launch of the BlackBerry Tour 9630, a 3G-enabled smartphone in Indonesia. The new smartphone offers support for email solutions, built-in GPS and multiple multimedia features, allowing customers to take full advantage of their time.

Accompanying the launch of the BlackBerry Tour, Smart also launched a very attractive service plan named Smart BlackBerry Hebat. Both prepay and postpay customers will be able to use the new BlackBerry Hebat service plan, which will include unlimited Internet access and email, as well as unlimited video streaming (RTSP) on Smart's network. Also, customers will be able to use this smartphone as a modem for unlimited Internet access with no additional charge. This service plan is already available for IDR 8,000 per day or for IDR 180,000 for 30 days.

Some of the BlackBerry Tour's features are: - Camera (3.2 MP), Built-in GPS; - SMS/MMS, advanced media player; - 256 MB Flash memory, 2GB external memory card (microSD/SDHC) included in the box; - Support for BlackBerry App World, BlackBerry Maps, BlackBerry Push Email; - Organizer, Browser, Phone; - Access to corporate data with BlackBerry Enterprise Server or BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express; - World phone capabilities with high-speed CDMA networks support in Indonesia and UMTS/HSPA (2100Mhz) and quad-band EDGE/GPRS/GSM networks abroad.

There are two purchase options available for the Indonesian customers: direct purchase or a six-month payment plan with no interest for Mandiri credit-card owners, both of these options including a 30-day free use of the Smart BlackBerry Hebat package. The BlackBerry Tour 9630 smartphone and BlackBerry service plans are available for purchase at Smart’s galleries, Trikomsel or Okeshop and through Smart’s delivery service via phone.
