As expected, BlackBerry Torch 9810 has just hit shelves via AT&T and is now available for purchase for as low as $49.99 with a two-year contract and new activation.

The smartphone is a bit pricey for customers who wish to avoid being tied by a long-term contract, as they will have to pay $449.99 outright.

By the looks of it, the Torch 9810 is the successor of the popular Torch 9800 and Research in Motion's (RIM) second slider smartphone that features a full QWERTY keyboard.

Introduced three weeks ago, along with BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Torch 9850, the handset is delivered with BlackBerry 7 operating system on board, as well as improved hardware.

With BlackBerry 7, users will be provided with a next-generation BlackBerry browser that is significantly faster than older versions, hence it offers a more fluid web browsing experience.

Thanks to the new mobile platform, the Torch 9810 also features Liquid Graphics technology, allowing for a highly responsive touch interface with incredibly fast and smooth graphics.

When it comes to hardware, the Torch 9810 is a big improvement in comparison with its 9800 predecessor.

The phone is powered by a single core 1.2 GHz processor and packs 8 GB of internal storage, 768 MB RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Furthermore, the handset sports a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, image stabilization and HD video recording capabilities.

In addition, Torch 9810 has a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 16 million colors support and 480 x 640 pixels resolution, as well as optical trackpad and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

Other highlights of the phone include optical trackpad, proximity sensor for auto turn-off, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP connectivity, as well as GPS with A-GPS support.

AT&T offers two flavors of the BlackBerry Torch 9810: Pure White and Zinc Grey.
