A flurry of BlackBerry handsets is expected to become available for purchase in Canada via wireless carrier Bell, some of the latest reports on the matter suggest.

Apparently, the company is gearing up for the release of a number of four new devices from Research In Motion, all of which should be running under the new BlackBerry 7 OS from the company.

Among them, we can count the already official BlackBerry Bold 9900, also known as Bold Touch, since it is the first such handset to arrive with both the popular QWERTY keyboard from the company, as well as with a touchscreen display.

Along with it, the yet unannounced BlackBerry Torch 9810 and the Torch 9860 should arrive on the wireless carrier's airwaves, along with the Curve 9360 smartphone.

All of them should pair the latest version of RIM's mobile operating system with powerful 1.2GHz application processors (except for Curve, with its 800Mhz CPU), which will make them great competitors for Bell's existing range of Android-based handsets.

At the same time, the new handsets are expected to offer download speeds of up to 14.4Mbps on the wireless carrier's network, as well as support for WiFi connectivity, and more.

As MobileSyrup notes in a recent article, they would certainly make the Android-based ATRIX, Desire Z, Incredible S and Sensation run for the money.

Rumor has it that these phones might be released on shelves sometime in late-August or September, but nothing was officially confirmed on the matter for the time being.

The Blackberry Touch 9860 should arrive on shelves with a 3.7″ (800×480) display, while the second gen Torch, the 9810, would boast a 3.2″ screen.

The info on the new touch-enabled BlackBerry devices for Bell comes from TechFIBE, though the specific release dates for each of them did not emerge.

All these handsets have been spotted into the wild before, but RIM did not make all of them official as of now. Hopefully, it won't be too long before the company makes the move.
