One of the mobile phones that the Canadian handset vendor Research In Motion would bring to the market in the not to far future would be the BlackBerry Torch 2, expected to hit shelves with the band new BlackBerry OS 7 on board.

The device that can be seen in the video below is not final hardware, it seems, but it still looks great, and should prove a great option for all enthusiasts out there.

The next BlackBerry Torch handset would arrive on shelves with a 1.2 GHz application processor inside, which should provide it with increased performance capabilities.

It would also include 768MB of RAM, as well as 8GB of internal memory, which should be accompanied by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The same as the original Torch handset, which was released on the market in summer last year, the upcoming device would sport a sliding form factor, with a 3.17-inch TFT LCD touchscreen on the front, capable of delivering a 640 x 480 pixels resolution, and a full QWERTY keyboard.

On the back, the new device would include a 5-megapixel photo snapper capable of recording 720P HD videos. The mobile phone would pack a 1270 mAh battery inside, for extended usage time.

When compared to the original Torch, although sporting the same looks, the new handset would prove more sturdy, while being capable of offering a better experience to its users.

The software loaded on the new BlackBerry Torch 2 smartphone would improve the general improved feeling the device offers as well.

For the time being, however, we should note that RIM did not confirm the existence of this device in an official manner, and that aforementioned specifications are only rumored.

No exact info on the availability or pricing of this device emerged for the time being. Until more on it is made available, have a look at the photos and video embedded below, available courtesy of TechnoBuffalo.
