Canadian mobile phone users can now purchase the second touchscreen-enabled device from Research In Motion, the BlackBerry Storm2 9550, on the airwaves of another wireless carrier in the country, namely on Bell. A few weeks ago, rumors on the possible launch of Storm2 on Bell emerged, all of which proved real in the end, as the operator has just added the smartphone to its lineup.

Those interested in the second BlackBerry Storm handset can now purchase it with a three-year contract agreement from Bell, while paying $199.95 for the device. However, other offers are also in place with the carrier, including a two-year agreement option, on which Storm2 costs $399.95, or a one-year contract option, with the device priced at $499.95. The phone is available without a contract agreement as well, featuring a tag of $549.95.

The BlackBerry Storm2 9550 arrives at Bell with support for the carrier's CDMA network and sports a 3.25-inch touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 360 pixel resolution and RIM’s SurePress technology. The handset offers 256 MB of Flash memory, and it also includes a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 16GB of additional storage space.

Other specifications of the mobile phone include the BlackBerry OS 5.0, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v2.1 connectivity options, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper with flash and auto focus, a 3.5mm headset jack, built-in GPS receiver, Speakerphone, full HTML browser, virtual QWERTY keyboard, as well as support for a wide range of messaging features including email, SMS, video messaging, BlackBerry Messenger and more.

Support for Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents editing and Voice dialing are also present on the device, as well as a media player, or support for downloadable games, wallpapers and ringtones. The handset's battery can offer up to 5.5 hours of talk time, or up to 11.2 days of standby time. Additional details on it are available on Bell's website here.
