Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has put on sale on its website the second touchscreen handset from Research In Motion, the BlackBerry Storm2. As announced a few days ago, mobile phone users in the US can now purchase the new handset from the wireless operator, paying $179.99 for the device upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the company.
Moreover, enthusiasts can also get two BlackBerry Storm2 for the price of one, only that they will have to sign two agreements with the carrier, one for each device. The Storm2 has been included in
Big Red's BOGO promotion, just as previous rumors suggested, yet there is one little catch: the phone is the most expensive one of all included in the promotion, so you won't get it for free unless you purchase another Storm2.
Even so, the offer still looks appealing.
The phone can be seen on Verizon's website
here, and users can choose to get another device from there too. Verizon's stores are also expected to put the Storm2 on sale later today, so those who are into the in-store purchase experience can head to the nearest location to get their own unit.
The second touchscreen handset from RIM, as many of you might already know, is set to deliver a wide range of improvements over the previous Storm, including a better touch experience and Wi-Fi connectivity, not to mention the BlackBerry Device Software 5.0. Other improvements are also present with the new handset, and users will also be able to enjoy support for a wide range of applications and services.
The new BlackBerry Storm2 is also set to come to operators all around the world, and most of you should already know that Vodafone will carry the handset in some European markets. Head over to Verizon Wireless' website
here to purchase the BlackBerry Storm2 and learn more on the handset and on the BOGO promotion it has been included in.
