Mobile phone users in Belgium can now enjoy yet another high-end handset, as BASE has recently launched the BlackBerry Storm on its airwaves. The new device comes to the market with a SurePress touch-screen, which has been designed so as to offer an enhanced user experience while typing or navigating through the menus or on the Internet.

At the same time, the device also comes with a virtual keyboard that can deliver the same responsiveness as a physical one, providing easy and precise typing, the company says. Moreover, users will also be able to enjoy single-touch, multi-touch and gestures on the handset's interface, a feature that enables an intuitive and efficient navigation.

The feature list of the new BlackBerry Storm includes DataViz Documents to Go, enabling users to edit Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files straight on the device, built-in GPS receiver, which allows for a wide range of location-based applications and services to be used, not to mention geo-tagging of photos.

In addition, the device also comes with a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper that sports zoom, auto focus and video recording capabilities, along with 1GB of on-board memory storage and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage, 3.5 mm stereo headset jack, Bluetooth stereo audio profile (A2DP/AVRCP) support, and a powerful media player.

The BlackBerry Storm comes to the mobile phone users in the country with a sleek, elegant design, a 3.25-inch display that boasts a 480 x 360 pixel resolution, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and a rechargeable 1400 mAhr battery that can offer up to 6 hours of talk time or 15 days of standby time, while working on 3G networks.

The handset also sports a variety of pre-loaded applications, including Facebook, Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, AOL Instant Messenger, ICQ, Yahoo Messenger and Flickr Photo Uploader for BlackBerry smartphones. Details on BASE's offering can be found here.
