Research in Motion hasn't officially announced yet the BlackBerry Storm 2 touchscreen mobile phone, though the company's representatives talked about it and stated that it should come during the ongoing year. However, now we learn that a hands-on video with the device is already available into the wild, along with some more details on the high-end handset.

The fortunate people that managed to get their hands on a Storm 2 and film it are the guys from Engadget Mobile, and they unveiled some more info on the phone, such as the fact that the maker indeed left aside the original Storm's SurePress click-screen and only included a traditional fixed capacitive display in the new beauty.

According to the team, the new Storm comes to the market with a sleeker design that, combined with the stable screen, can offer a leveraged user experience when compared to the previous version of the phone. In addition, they also say that the unit that they were able to hold was a Verizon-branded dual-mode GSM / CDMA model.

What the BlackBerry Storm 2 is said to come to the market with includes a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper that sports auto focus, a 3.5 mm headset jack, a USB charger, as well as a series of soft keys on the sides of the handset. The device also includes four softkeys on the front for call, end, back, and a BlackBerry key, and the power and mute buttons at the top.

In addition, it seems that the phone should also include haptic support, though it is not so certain. Unfortunately, the guys from Engadget didn't have the chance to tap into the software of the handset, so there is no exact info on what it packs in terms of features and functionalities, but more details on the matter should surface to the Web in the near future.
