BlackBerry officially introduced the Q5 smartphone in India a few days ago, but details on the phone’s availability were a bit scarce at the time of the launch.

Today, major retailer Infibeam confirms that BlackBerry Q5 is now available for purchase via its online stores. Customers who plan on buying the latest BlackBerry 10 smartphone should know that the Indian seller claims it can ship all Q5 orders in about 2-3 days.

As expected, customers can pick the BlackBerry Q5 up for Rs 24,990 outright, which is about $420 or €320. Other Indian retailers may start offering the smartphone as well, but Infibeam seems to be among the first to sell the Q5.

The third smartphone powered by BlackBerry 10 operating system, the Q5 strongly resembles the previous BlackBerry Q10 model.

The device sports a rather unusual 3.1-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720 x 720 pixels) resolution and 16 million colors.

On the inside, BlackBerry Q5 packs a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, which is complemented by 2GB of RAM. There are 8GB of storage that can be further expanded up to 32 GB via microSD memory card.

The Q5 includes a decent 5-megapixel rear photo snapper that features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. There’s also a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

Connectivity-wise, the smartphone offers both GPRS and EDGE support, as well as HSDPA, HSUPA and LTE. It is also worth mentioning that the phone is powered by a non-removable 2,180 mAh Li-Ion battery that should offer up to 14 days of standby time or up to 12 hours of talk time.

“The BlackBerry Q5 smartphone offers the full BlackBerry 10 functionality as well as access to the growing catalog of BlackBerry 10 apps. With its physical QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen, it gives customers the best of both worlds,” said Sunil Lalvani, the managing director for India at BlackBerry.
