The cheapest Blackberry 10 smartphone is about to make its entrance on the market and the first to get it are customers in the UAE.

According to AmeInfo, BlackBerry Q5 will be available for purchase in the UAE starting tomorrow, June 20, at 17.00 local time through the company’s new retail store in the Dubai Mall.

Those interested in purchasing the Q5 should know that only a limited number of smartphones will be available for early sale in celebration of the opening day of the new store.

Obviously, customers will be able to pre-order the BlackBerry Q5 as well, but the smartphone won’t arrive until next month.

The BlackBerry Store in Dubai Mall will offer the Q5 for only AED 1,499 outright, which is about $410 or €305, but price may be different depending on the region and carrier.

For those unfamiliar, BlackBerry Q5 will be released with BlackBerry 10.1 onboard or will be offered an upgrade immediately after purchase.

The smartphone sports a decent 3.1-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 720 x 720 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

This seems to be the same type of display that has been included in the Q10 model, but the latter features a superior Super AMOLED touchscreen.

Furthermore, BlackBerry Q5 is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, unlike the other two BlackBerry smartphones that come packed with 1.5 GHz dual-core CPUs.

On the inside, the Q5 is equipped with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

There’s also a 5-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. A secondary front-facing 2-megapixel camera for video calls is included as well.

Last but not least, BlackBerry Q5 is powered by a non-removable 2180 mAh Li-Ion battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
