Canadian device maker BlackBerry has teamed up with Porsche multiple times over the past few years, and their partnership has resulted in a few premium devices that usually sell for very consistent price tags.

During the Mobile World Congress 2015 at the beginning of last month, BlackBerry CEO’s John Chen revealed the company’s roadmap and also made a reference to another BlackBerry Porsche Design smartphone which was in the pipeline.

At the time, not many details related to the handset were known. All the info made available to us was that the smartphone was internally codenamed “Keian.” BlackBerry and Porsche were building this handset to honor the memory of Keian Blundell, the son of former CrackBerry Apps Editor Ryan Blundell, who unfortunately died of leukemia in January 2014 at the tender age of 6.

BlackBerry has a new premium handset in the works

Now, a new report coming out of BlackBerry Central reveals more information about the upcoming Keian handset. It seems that the model will arrive on the market as the BlackBerry P’9984 and will cost those interested a hefty $2,000 / €1,842 a pop.

The phone should launch on September 20 and will arrive with a high-quality leather back. We’re also given a look into possible specifications, as we’re told the device is bound to take advantage of a 4.5-inch LCD display with 1440 x 1440 pixel resolution.

Users will also be able to take advantage of a 13MP/2MP camera combo and the BlackBerry 10.3.2 OS. And for those already hotly burning over the new phone, we have even more good news, as the handset has leaked in a few images, one of which reveals the phone in all its glory.

In related news, another upcoming BlackBerry handset has revealed its face recently. We’re talking about the BlackBerry Oslo, which is slated for release on June 30.

The device brings some Passport vibes to the table, although it’s not as square-ish looking. If we’re to believe the rumors, Oslo will arrive with the same 1440 x 1440 LCD display Keian is bound to have (although we don’t know the exact size), a 13MP/2MP camera combo, a hefty 3,450 mAh battery, and BlackBerry OS 10.3.2 out of the box.
