A new software update is now available for Research In Motion’s BlackBerry PlayBook tablet PC, bringing the operating system loaded on it up to version 2.1.0.1314.

The new firmware version weighs only 37MB, and is said to arrive on devices with a small number of changes. Among them, there’s the updated support for Adobe Flash 10.3, along with a series of enhancements for Adobe AIR.

These improvements are aimed mainly at developers, offering them the possibility to build applications for the device easier than before.

Of course, various bug fixes might have also been included in the new software release, although RIM hasn’t provided specific details on the matter as of now.

Owners of a BlackBerry PlayBook should already see the new software as available for their devices. They can also have a look at the video above to learn more on how to update the tablet.
