The BlackBerry PlayBook, Research In Motion's first tablet PC, has been officially launched on the market in Hong Kong, when it should make an official appearance as soon as early July, the leading handset vendor has just announced.

The tablet should be released on shelves in the country via all authorized carrier partners and retail channels.

The BlackBerry PlayBook can easily prove the ideal companion for business users, as well as for those who are looking for entertainment on the go.

The device comes with an ultra-portable design, and can offer impressive performance capabilities, as well as great web browsing, true multitasking, and support for HD multimedia playback, along with out-of-the-box enterprise support.

The tablet PC arrived on shelves with support for the Adobe Flash Player, as well as for Adobe Mobile AIR and HTML-5, leading to a high-fidelity web experience and delivering support for all sites, games and media on the web.

The device comes with a 7-inch 1024x600 WSVGA capacitive LCD touch screen, a dual-core application processor inside, 1GB of RAM, 16, 32 and 64 GB of internal memory, 5MP camera with 1080p HD video recording, and a 3MP camera on the front with 1080p HD video capabilities as well.

Other specs of this tablet PC include Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n) connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, built-in GPS receiver, the BlackBerry Tablet OS on top of the hardware, 1080p HDMI output, all in an ultra-portable design.
