RIM is moving closer to the release of the 4G flavor of its BlackBerry PlayBook, with more proof of that now available.

Yesterday, the Canadian mobile phone maker started to deliver a new OS upgrade to its PlayBook owners, which included mentions of the new device version.

In the help section of the new software, users will find details on how the SIM card can be inserted in the device, CrackBerry points out.

This does not come too much as a surprise, since the company was long rumored to be working on the upcoming tablet model, even if they did not make official announcements on the matter.

The 4G-enabled PlayBook has already been spotted over at the FCC, and all points to a near release, so stay tuned for more info on the matter.
