The LTE-enabled BlackBerry PlayBook has just received a release date. Rumored a few months ago, it looks like the tablet is real after all.

According to the folks over at MobileSyrup, the BlackBerry PlayBook 4G LTE will make its debut on July 31 at Bell Canada. However, the slate is likely to be launched through other Canadian carriers as well.

The tablet will come with the same 7-inch display that supports 1024 x 600 pixels resolution, but it will be equipped with a more powerful 1.5 GHz dual core processor and 1GB of RAM, whereas the standard version only packs a 1 GHz dual core CPU.

It will run BlackBerry PlayBook 2.0 operating system and will drain energy from a 4800 mAh Li-Ion battery. So far, it has been confirmed that a 32GB model will be available for purchase for around $550 CAD outright.
