Research In Motion’s (RIM) BlackBerry PlayBook 4G is expected to hit shelves in the following weeks. Although the tablet has been confirmed, the Canadian company has yet to announce the exact release date of the slate.

However, more details surface every week, which points to an imminent launch in the coming weeks. Today, the folks over at CrackBerry have learned that the BlackBerry PlayBook 4G has been certified for mobile networks.

The leaked document confirming the mobile networks certification also mentions the BlackBerry PlayBook 4G is powered by OS 2.0.1.668.

So far, this is all we have on the upcoming BlackBerry PlayBook 4G, but we can safely assume that Research In Motion will come forward with more details closer to launch date. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
