We reported yesterday on the availability of the BlackBerry PlayBook 3G+ in the UK. Today, RIM (Research In Motion) officially confirmed the tablet as available for purchase from two authorized resellers in country.

Customers who still trust RIM and wish to purchase the BlackBerry PlayBook 3G+ can do so for £415 ($665/€520) outright from Insight and Misco retailers.

It’s unclear why, but Misco is selling the tablet for a bit more, so those who visit their store in order to purchase the PlayBook 3G+ will have to come up with £42 ($680/ €530) upfront.

Obviously, the new 3G+ BlackBerry PlayBook tablet offers built-in support for all cellular networks in the UK. The slate is powered by BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2 out of the box and features a brand new web browser much faster than any previous version.

It comes packed with an easy-to-manage unified inbox that allows customers to access multiple personal and work email accounts, including messages from Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

BlackBerry PlayBook 3G+ is equipped with a powerful 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Keep in mind that the slate lacks microSD card slot for memory expansion.

The tablet’s 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display supports 600 x 1024 pixels resolution and 16 million colors. Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, microUSB and HDMI connectivity are included as well.

The PlayBook 3G+ also sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and video recording, as well as secondary 3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

According to RIM, “the 3G+ BlackBerry PlayBook tablet is also enterprise ready. It can be easily managed with BlackBerry Mobile Fusion, RIM's mobile device management platform and includes BlackBerry Balance technology, which allows customers to keep their business information completely secure and separate from their personal information.”
