The 3G+ version of BlackBerry PlayBook has finally landed in the UK. Aside from the 3G speeds, customers will also benefit from a more powerful processor.
However, former offers a better deal on the slate, while the latter is selling the tablet for 425 GBP (680 USD or 530 EUR) off-contract.
According to RIM (Research In Motion), “the BlackBerry PlayBook delivers professional-grade, consumer-friendly experiences that redefine the possibilities of mobile computing. This ultra-portable tablet looks and feels great, measuring less than half an inch thick and weighing less than a pound. It features a vivid 7-inch high-resolution display that is highly-responsive with a fluid touch screen experience.”
As we already mentioned, customers who choose RIM’s 3G+ tablet will also receive the advantages of a speedier processor. Unlike the standard 3G model that comes packed with a 1GHz dual-core processor inside, the 3G+ version is equipped with a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU.
In addition, the tablet “offers industry leading performance, uncompromised web browsing with support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1, true multitasking, HD multimedia, advanced security features, out-of-the-box enterprise support and a robust development environment,” claims RIM.
Keep in mind that this BlackBerry PlayBook 3G+ tablet comes with 32GB of internal memory, but not microSD card slot for memory expansion. Furthermore, the slate features 1GB of RAM and a vibrant 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 600 x 1024 pixels resolution.
It also ships with Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, microUSB and HDMI ports, as well as dual cameras (5-megapixel rear camera and 3-megapixel front-facing photo snapper).
In the same piece of news, customers who wish to grab the Wi-Fi only BlackBerry PlayBook can do so via Carphone Warehouse for only 200 GBP (320 USD or 250 EUR).
