The Passport is the next smartphone to be launched by Canadian company BlackBerry. The device is expected to be officially unveiled sometime next month, though a certain release date has yet to be announced.

Even though the Passport was seen before, as the smartphone was shown by BlackBerry’s CEO John Chen on some occasions, we’re pretty sure that fans will want as many pictures of the phone as possible until it actually goes on sale.

The Passport is BlackBerry’s innovative smartphone that’s supposed to arrive on the market this year, but the Canadian handset maker plans to launch a classic phone as well, the Q20. The latter will also be launched by the end of this year.

Anyway, back on the BlackBerry Passport, it looks like CrackBerry Forums member Ruslan Botsurko got his hands on the unreleased smartphone and was kind enough to share some pictures with the phone, along with some of his first impressions.

As seen in the pictures, BlackBerry Passport is not that big as to not get into a standard pocket, so those who fear that they won’t be able to fit the smartphone in their pocket due to the its unusual size may want to think again.

Although the smartphone in the pictures is a testing sample, we can safely assume that it’s very close to the final product which, hopefully, will go on sale as early as next month.

BlackBerry Passport’s full specs sheet already leaked a few days ago, which means aside from price tag, we know just about everything there is to know about the smartphone.

Obviously, reality may be different from what’s on paper right now, but we do not expect any major changes in Passport’s hardware configuration.

BlackBerry fans will be pleased to know that the Passport is not only innovative, but also powerful. The smartphone will be equipped with a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit, and no less than 3GB of RAM.

For the first time, BlackBerry includes an impressive camera in a smartphone. The Passports will boast an enhanced 13-megapixel rear-facing photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

But the main selling points of the Passport, aside from the fact that it’s a BlackBerry, are the physical QWERTY keyboard and the unusual 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1440 x 1440 pixels resolution.

Speaking of size, BlackBerry Passport measures 128 x 90.3 x 9.3mm and weighs no less than 195g (battery included). For more details, see our BlackBerry Passport specification page.

What do you think about Passport’s stylish look and form factor? Do you plan on getting one after seeing these pictures?
