Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry hasn’t released that many new smartphones so far in 2014, but rumor has it that things will change in the second half of the year, and info on two of the upcoming devices from the company has emerged online today.

Apparently, the handset vendor is getting ready for the launch of a new Porsche Design smartphone, one that would arrive on shelves under the name of P’9983, but which has been spotted in the company’s roadmap before, with the codename BlackBerry Khan attached to it.

According to a recent article on N4BB, the handset will be a BlackBerry 10 QWERTY device and will be nothing more than a BlackBerry Classic that will receive a Porsche Design makeover, the same as other handsets from the company did before it.

Specs-wise, the upcoming mobile phone is expected to feature a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, along with a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, which should be paired with 3GB of RAM.

Basically, it should be able to provide users with appealing performance capabilities, though it’s rather strange that BlackBerry would still go for a dual-core CPU with it, when competitor devices run under quad-core ones.

BlackBerry P’9983 (Khan) is also said to feature 64GB of internal memory, while packing an outer case made out of carbon and steel.

Supposedly set to land on shelves before Christmas this year, the mobile phone will be priced north of $2,000 (€1,488), something that is somehow expected from a Porsche Design handset.

One other device that BlackBerry should announce before the end of this year is the BlackBerry Z3 LTE, which supposedly features the codename Manitoba.

The mobile phone is said to pack a 5-inch touchscreen of unknown resolution, while expected to land on shelves with a 1.7GHz dual-core processor inside, and with 2GB of RAM next to it.

Overall, the specs of this device should be similar to those included in BlackBerry Z30, yet the phone’s form factor will be that of the already released Z3.

The back cover of the new mobile phone should be different from the one present on the current BlackBerry Z3 handset, courtesy of a new camera placement in a glass strip on the top. The LTE-enabled version of BlackBerry Z3 will sport a price tag of less than $400 (€298), rumor has it.

In addition to these two phones, BlackBerry should also release the already announced Passport, which will sport a large, square touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard.
