Virgin Mobile and Bell are among the first carriers to offer the BlackBerry OS 7.1 update for the budget-friendly Curve 9360 smartphone.

Today, regional carrier SaskTel is offering the same software update for its customers who own RIM’s BlackBerry Curve 9360.

According to the folks over at MobileSyrup, new software version 7.1.0.219 is available for download via Research in Motion’s support site. It is recommended to back up all your sensitive information before updating to BlackBerry OS 7.1

Those who are not familiar with the changes added by this update should know that BlackBerry OS 7.1 brings NFC (Near Field Communications) support, Wi-Fi Mobile Hotspot capability, as well as FM Radio and lots of bug fixes.

It appears that BlackBerry Curve 9360 is among the first to receive this important update due to the phone having critical issues such as frequent disconnect and others.
