The holiday season brought unexpected gifts for some BlackBerry users out there, in the form of leaked BlackBerry OS versions to make their handsets a little better than they already are.

Among the leaked solutions, we can count the BlackBerry OS 5.0.0.1041, which made an unofficial appearance into the wild for two popular smartphones, namely the BlackBerry Storm 9530 and the BlackBerry Tour 9630.

For the time being, it seems that there is now word on changes and features that the new builds bring forth for end-users, though the great news is that RIM is still active in offering updates for the older OS 5.0 on its handsets.

However, since the version number from the previous release spotted into the wild for either of the two hasn't seen major changes, one should expect only for a small number of enhancements to be included in the new bits.

As the guys over at BlackBerry Leaks note, the new OS 5.0.0.1041 ROMs for Storm 9530 and Tour 9630 are not official releases, and those interested in downloading and installing them should take all the necessary precautions to make sure that nothing goes wrong.

Those who will choose to install the solutions would do so at their own risk. Being unofficial releases means that these solutions might include bugs that could brick the device, not to mention that the warranty of the BlackBerry would be voided.

At the same time, we should note that users are advised to perform a backup of all data on their devices before proceeding with the installation of one of these new OS leaks, provided that they plan on moving forth with them.

In case there are some of you would like to get the new OS 5.0.0.1041 on a Storm 9530 or on a Tour 9630 but don't know how they can do so, they would find all of the necessary info, along with the download links, on the BlackBerry Leaks website.
