It should appeal to those who are not used with the gesture-based UI

Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry is getting ready for the release of a new flavor of its mobile operating system, namely the BlackBerry OS 10.2.1, which will bring along some nice enhancements over previous versions.

One of these new features includes a Floating Action Bar, which will be present on handsets just above the keyboard, PhoneArena explains.

The info comes from BlackBerry Product Manager Michael Clewley, who notes that the change should appeal a lot to those who are not used with the gesture-based UI.

The action bar will come with a back button, as well as with access to a series of other common actions, and it can be turned on in the Options menu.

Apparently, the feature will be available only on specific screens, and it should appear on pages where users will have to hide the keyboard in order to have the action bars used on other applications on screen.
