Owners of BlackBerry 10 smartphones interested in getting the BlackBerry OS 10.2.1 update on their devices might not have to wait past the next month for it to arrive.

An O2 UK representative has reportedly confirmed that the carrier will begin the deployment of this OS version for its customers as soon as the next month, although a specific release date hasn’t been provided as of now, Geeks Hut reports.

In fact, the rep actually said that BlackBerry hadn’t unveiled timings for the deployment of the new update, though it might announce such details in the not too distant future.

The Canadian mobile phone maker has already provided some info on the upcoming BlackBerry 10.2.1 OS release, noting that it will feature a new Android runtime, with support for a great deal of new applications, but it has yet to go on the record with a release date for it, both in the UK and elsewhere.
