Starting today, owners of a BlackBerry Z10 smartphone on the network of wireless carrier AT&T can download and install a new platform update, namely BlackBerry OS 10.1.

The new flavor of the mobile OS has already arrived on devices in other markets around the world, as well as BlackBerry Z10 phones on the networks of other carriers, though it needed a little longer before being released in the United States too.

The new release arrives on AT&T’s BlackBerry Z10 smartphones as software version 10.1.0.2006, and packs inside features such as HDR Camera, Skype, PIN messaging, improvements for the handset’s battery life, updated applications, and more.

Users can check for the availability of the update manually through going to Settings > Software Updates. The update might not appear as available for all devices right from the start, but it is there, CrackBerry notes.
