BlackBerry Network Down Worldwide - 10/10/2011

I was under the impression that it was only UK wide and due to the london riots this summer, but this seems to have chopped the heads off those rumours :D Please keep updated as I use my bb for everything from social networking to receiving work messages and already in the last 5 hrs since the network has failed this has really affected my usual life!

This Is stupid, First the phones play up to send and receive messages now it doesn't work at all, this is stupid, Blackberry need to sort themselves out.
It's affecting people who use their phones for work purposes and it's also affecting people who use it for personal use.
i pay £200 for a phone, i expect ALL the features to work.. Expensive phones that are cheaply made.. Rubbish.... It's a good job i Got a iPhone...... Not 1 Problem....

The outage should be a wake up call and a reminder that we are too heavily dependent on technology and think that without it we can not move forward. Please reconsider blaming and pointing fingers at the network itself and use this as a lesson to hard-copy all your data and maintain personal relationships with real people.

It hasnt been working period.. not yesterday not today. and its frsutrating to be honest and quite sad that this being an international issue and there should be some kind of computer proffesionals and phone experts being able to fix this problem and its quite sad that at such a reputable big company theres no decent brain out there to be able to try and fix this problem ,. well, its getting a bit ridiculous now, they have a problem with bbm every month .. they need to pull their finger out and sort this once and for all before i trade in for an iphone

Well, to be honest it's not your service providers fault. It's an issue with RIM's side, so yes, it is out of your service providers control. Don't blame where blame isn't due.

everyone i know with a blackberry is having problems here in the uk, mine has been done for 12 hours now, no connection at all, really annoyed with this!

This is beyond a joke. My contract is with Vodafone so why is the problem with Blackberry preventing communication? I am trying to run a business, as are thousands of others and bought a Blackberry because it was designed for such use. 10 hours lost communication is unacceptable. WHY aren't we being kept informed by Blackberry or our Network Providers? Appalling.

Got so used to chatting with my boyfriend who is based in Nigeria on the BIS network, been quite annoying this is happening. Though anything man-made can always develop a fault at any time and I can imagine the pressure and hard-work the engineers fixing the problem at the data centre must be facing/ going through. I am not happy about this at all. When the PlayStation Network went down, every member knew there was a problem straight away. Engineers worked quickly to secure it, and every member received compensation.
Surely we can demand the same of blackberry??
And whose to say this was an outage? With this recent hacking frenzy, whose to say they weren't hacked for our bank details stored in app world?

well yesterday 10/10/2011 i could not use the internet, facebook, any apps that needed the internet, bbm or anything my phone was even struggling to send text messages im from yorkshire in england and this morning when i woke up everything was working fine on my phone and now 11/10/2011 at 12:51pm nothing is working on my phone again what is going on!

exactly same with me everything cam back on last night about 11.30pm whatsapp and bbm worked. at 11.30am today whatsapp and bbm stopped again and is still down!!! even did a reboot to see if it helped and nothing!! internet and messages working fine.

Just in case the "WORLD" forgot, but Blackberry can add South Africa on their repair list too once they have sorted out all the 10/10 COUNTRIES out there... We all went offline together, strange that some get first hand knowledge while everyone else must just sit around and wait. We pay a fee for this and BB is really not letting us know much about anything!!!!!

UPDATE 18: 10PM UTC - service is being restored in the Netherlands. UK still partially down. No sign of recovery in other regions yet.
