Research In Motion (RIM) has just released a new version of BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) in the Beta Zone.

Although the application has yet to be made available to general public, those who own a valid BlackBerry Beta Zone account can download and install the latest version of BBM with ease.

According to CrackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger has been bumped to version 7.0.1 and now features support for BlackBerry OS 5.0 devices.

Additionally, the update brings faster call setup support for BBM Voice sessions, as well as improved devices accessory handling, such as Bluetooth and headset integration.

Last but not least, RIM confirmed that BlackBerry Messenger had been updated with BBID setup and integration improvements as well.

BlackBerry Messenger 7.0.1 is now available as a free download via Beta Zone and it should be fully compatible with all devices running BlackBerry 5.0 and up. Check it out here.
