Fastlink, a member of the Mobile Telecommunication Company (MTC), announced earlier this week plans with Research In Motion and Emitac Mobile Solutions (EMS) to launch BlackBerry in Jordan.

Fastlink will be the first service provider to introduce the BlackBerry wireless platform in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and EMS will assist Fastlink in launching, delivering, supporting and selling the BlackBerry solution to its customers. Together, EMS and Fastlink will address the Jordanian market by delivering a suite of applications on the BlackBerry platform to Fastlink's customers.

At launch, Fastlink will offer BlackBerry Enterprise Server and the BlackBerry 8700g smartphone to corporate customers. The BlackBerry 8700g operates in conjunction with BlackBerry Enterprise Server, which tightly integrates with Microsoft Exchange, Novell GroupWise and IBM Lotus Domino and works with existing enterprise systems, to enable secure, push-based wireless access to email and other corporate data.

The BlackBerry 8700g provides exceptional performance together with an intuitive user experience. Fastlink customers will be able to use the quad-band handset on Fastlink's network in Jordan as well as more than 60 countries through more than 120 global roaming relationships.

The BlackBerry 8700g is a quad-band handset that delivers fast performance for web browsing and other mobile applications. It includes a bright, high resolution LCD display that supports more than 65,000 colors and delivers vivid graphics. It also incorporates an intelligent light-sensing technology that automatically adjusts the screen and keyboard lighting for optimized viewing in outdoor, indoor and dark environments. The BlackBerry 8700g includes premium phone features such as a dedicated 'mute' key, smart dialing, conference calling, speed dialing, call forwarding, a speakerphone and Bluetooth support for hands-free use with car kits and wireless headsets.
