BlackBerry Javelin, a new and not yet officially announced device, seems to be the most multimedia-centered smartphone in RIM's history. The handset has appeared several times on the Web, in leaked pictures and videos, but the latest images with it (spotted on Crackberry) offer new and cool details that BlackBerry fans will most likely want to hear about.

The Javelin will bring a 3.2 Megapixel camera with auto focus, flash and video recording, being the first BlackBerry smartphone to have such an advanced photo camera (although it's not really advanced compared to the cameras that Sony Ericsson C905 and Samsung Innov8 pack, but still). Javelin's camera and its flash are situated behind a glass cover, which adds to the overall fashionable look of the smartphone.

Furthermore, BlackBerry Javelin has a bigger display than the other brand new RIM smartphone (the Bold 9000, which has already been released in Germany and Austria): 480 x 360 pixels, as opposed to 480 x 320.

Of course, the new BlackBerry can't come without trackball navigation or a QWERTY keyboard; hence, it will have both of these useful features. Moreover, the smartphone also brings built-in GPS, Wi-Fi, Media player, Bluetooth, advanced email and Web capabilities, a 512 MHz processors, 256MB of Flash memory, miniUSB and microSD card slot (hot-swappable). No word yet whether Javelin is a 3G handset or one that features only GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE (the first option would be great).

There is also no word whether BlackBerry Javelin will be the official name of the smartphone we're talking about. According to the rumors, RIM might call it BlackBerry 9300, BlackBerry 8301 or BlackBerry 8900, so we'd better wait for something official to come up.

Research In Motion should present the Javelin in the next few months and, hopefully, the smartphone will be as nice as it looks to be at the moment.
