Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry is getting ready to push its new BlackBerry 10 operating system to various markets around the world, but it seems that Japan is not included in its plans, at least not for the time being.

Following a report from Reuters that the company might not launch the new BlackBerry 10 smartphones in this country, the company confirmed this state of facts officially, Engadget reports.

“Japan is not a major market for BlackBerry and we have no plans to launch BlackBerry 10 devices there at this time. However, we will continue to support BlackBerry customers in Japan,” the handset vendor reportedly said.

BlackBerry also confirmed a positive reaction to its new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone in the markets where it has already been launched, adding that more countries will receive it soon.
