Canadian mobile phone carrier TELUS is expected to add to its offering in the near future a new device coming from Research In Motion, namely the BlackBerry Curve 9380.

The handset was not made official as of now, yet it already emerged on the handset vendor's developer portal, next to another handset that RIM is expected to make official soon, namely the Bold 9790.

The new BlackBerry Curve 9380 smartophone was seen in a brochure that emerged over at MobileSyrup, and is expected to become available for purchase in time for the holiday season.

The new device will arrive on the market with a 3.2-inch display that can deliver a 480 x 360 pixel resolution, and should offer touch capabilities.

This is the first touchscreen-enabled smartphone that RIM launches in the Curve series, and marks the availability of touch devices on all of the handset vendor's families of devices.

The first was Storm, followed by Torch last year, and by the new Bold 9900 earlier this year, and now the Curve series gets a taste of touch capabilities as well.

RIM did not offer specific info on the new mobile phone until now, but some rumors on what it might include already emerged, suggesting that it will sport an 800MHz application processor, the same as Curve 9360 does.

The handset is also said to pack a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording capabilities, as well as the new BlackBerry 7 OS from RIM.

Of course, it will also be loaded with support for the latest services and applications from RIM, such as the newly launched BBM Music service, now live for users in the US, Canada and Australia.

One way or the other, the new BlackBerry Curve 9380 should hit TELUS' network as an affordable device, the same as other phones in the Curve series are. Hopefully, it will make it to the market in time for Christmas, so stay tuned for more info on the matter.
