14 DAY TRIAL // Shortly after Research in Motion officially introduced the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and Curve 9380, UK-based carrier O2 confirmed it will offer the smartphone soon.
Although the carrier was vague on the availability of the device, it looks like the BlackBerry Curve 9380 will arrive at O2 within the next few weeks: “Liking blackberry's new Curve 9380? Good news, it's coming to O2 soon!.”
RIM fans are probably aware of the fact that the Curve 9380 is an entry-level smartphone that offers users the latest BlackBerry 7 operating system.
In fact, the BlackBerry Curve 9380 can be considered the budget-friendly version of the BlackBerrt Torch 9860.
The smartphone have several features in common, including the mobile platform and the fact that both offer an all-touch experience.
BlackBerry Curve 9380 is the first touch device in the Curve family, which means that the smartphone does not come with the traditional portrait QWERTY keyboard, instead it offers a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display.
With BlackBerry 7 on board, the Curve 9380 will deliver users a fast and rich experience with enhanced browsing, voice-activated searches (via Universal Search feature), as well as support for Augmented Reality and NFC (Near Field Communications) technology.
In addition, the device comes pre-loaded with several social networking apps, including BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), Twitter, Facebook and Social Feeds 2.0.
Software-wise, the Curve 9380 bundles a range of productivity tools, including the premium version of Documents To Go, which is available for free, a native PDF document viewer, BlackBerry Protect, and BlackBerry Balance.
Just like all the latest BlackBerry 7 smartphone launched by RIM earlier this year, the Curve 9380 sports a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording capabilities.
There's no word on the price options yet, but O2 is likely to offer the BlackBerry Curve 9380 for free on select plans.
