Other old smartphone will surely follow in the coming weeks

After dropping the Galaxy Nexus and the magenta Lumia 800, Canadian carrier TELUS is about to retire two more handsets, the BlackBerry Curve 9360 and Sony Ericsson Xperia ray.

According to MobileSyrup, both smartphones having been launched at TELUS less than a year ago are now on the discontinued list.

That’s pretty bad news for Sony fans, as the Xperia ray was a reliable Android smartphone that has just received an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade.

The BlackBerry Curve 9360 on the other hand is not such a bad loss for TELUS customers as Research In Motion (RIM) recently refreshed its Curve family with two new devices, the Curve 9220 and 9320.

We’re certain that other popular smartphones will be added on TELUS’ discontinued list pretty soon, in order to make room for newer devices.
