Canadian mobile phone carriers Koodo and TELUS have just made available for purchase on their airwaves the brand new BlackBerry Curve 9360 smartphone from Research In Motion.

The new device was unveiled to the world earlier this week, and should arrive on shelves at more carriers around the world starting with September, after being launched in Canada this month.

At Koodo, the smartphone was made available with a price tag of $300 attached to it if purchased free of contract, but users can also choose to pay only $150 for it on the Tan.

At TELUS, the BlackBerry Curve 9360 is available for as low as $49.99 on a 3-year contract, but users can also opt for purchasing it contract free, for $349.99.

The new device brings along a wide range of features powered by the new BlackBerry 7 OS, as well as upgraded hardware specs when compared to the previously available Curve handsets.

Some of the main features the new mobile phone arrives on the Canadian market with will include:

- Powered by BlackBerry 7.0 operating system with powerful rich media web browsing - Sleek curved back design with a 5 MP camera - Easy navigation with a smooth trackpad and full QWERTY keyboard - Liquid Graphics for a richer multi-media and gaming experience - BlackBerry Protect for total security if your phone is ever misplaced or lost - Digital compass and Open GL for augmented reality. The new BlackBerry Curve 9360 sports a 2.8-inch screen, complemented by a QWERTY keyboard, and a trackpad touted to be offering fast navigation capabilities.

The mobile phone also comes with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with video recording capabilities, as well as with the possibility to expand the available storage space by up to 32GB via microSD memory cards.

Curve 9360 users will also be able to download a variety of applications available for download via RIM's BlackBerry App World.
