On Tuesday, Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion has announced the release of a new series of handsets in its Curve series, and one of them will soon make an appearance on shelves at wireless carrier Vodafone UK, namely the BlackBerry Curve 9360.

The wireless services provider has already announced plans to add the new mobile phone to its offering, and is now listing it on its website in the coming soon section.

The new BlackBerry Curve 9360 should arrive on shelves at Vodafone sometime in September, though the specific release date for it was not unveiled until now.

No details on the price tag the mobile phone would sport emerged either, but it is expected to arrive as an affordable handset, just as RIM announced it would be.

In addition to listing the new Curve handset on its coming soon page, the wireless carrier has published a video presentation of the device.

“Coming soon - The new BlackBerry Curve 9360 will be available from Vodafone from September on both Pay Monthly and Pay as you Go,” the carrier notes in the video's description.

“It runs on BlackBerry's latest operating system, BlackBerry 7 (which also runs on the BlackBerry Bold 9900) and the screen uses Liquid Graphics technology to give you smooth, responsive performance whether you're browsing, accessing pictures and video or playing games,” the company continues.

The new smartphone will arrive on shelves as a thin device, RIM announced, adding that it would also offer better performance capabilities when compared to the handsets previously included in the company's Curve series.

Some of the specs the new Curve 9360 arrives on shelves with would include a 2.8-inch screen, along with a QWERTY keyboard, a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back with HD video recording capabilities, 512MB of RAM, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, and more.
