The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is the latest handset Research In Motion pushed to the market. The device comes with leveraged messaging capabilities, including SMS and IM, offering fast connectivity to email and social networking sites, and was released on the US market on the airwaves of T-Mobile only yesterday, yet the greatest surprise comes with the price at which it can be acquired.

The new handset has been made available for the wireless carrier's users through a series of different channels, including retailers like Amazon. Recently, one lucky customer got the chance to purchase the phone from Walmart ahead of its official launch for less than $50. Though this seemed impressive at the time, Amazon's offer is breathtaking: it has the BlackBerry Curve 8520 available for only $0.01 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement.

The best part about the deal is that whoever wants to purchase the new phone can do so by accessing Amazon.com from home and placing an order, basically effortlessly, BGR points out. Compared to Walmart’s $49 price, the new one seems much more attractive, especially since it comes the very day the phone is set to hit the shelves. The BlackBerry Curve 8520 might not be high end, yet its price will certainly attract customers on its side.

As many of you might already know, Research In Motion's Curve series was a best-sellers in the US during the second quarter of the year, and the new device might help it head for the top in the third one as well. Considering the fact that a Verizon-bound version of the handset has also been spotted in the wild, the new Curve, also known as the BlackBerry Gemini, might indeed see great traction on the US market. Currently, T-Mobile has the phone available in two color versions, black and frost, both priced at $129.99.
