Delivers easy-to-use communications and multimedia features

Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion announced on Tuesday plans to launch its newly released BlackBerry Curve 8520 handset in several markets in Latin America and the Caribbean, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Venezuela. The new mobile phone should become available for purchase in early September and should provide users in the area with easy-to-use communications and multimedia features.

The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is the latest handset in RIM's Curve series and is capable of delivering easy access to email and messaging (IM, SMS, MMS), as well as to popular social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace. In addition, it also sports a full-QWERTY keyboard that enables comfortable, accurate typing, not to mention the fact that it comes with rich multimedia features and fast access to music, games and other entertainment applications.

The specification list of the device also includes: - 256MB Flash memory and a 512Mhz next-generation processor for enhanced performance - 2 MP digital camera with zoom and video recording - Bluetooth (2.0) support for hands-free use - 3.5 mm stereo headset jack - microSD/SDHC memory card slot, supporting up to 16GB cards today and expected to support next-generation 32GB cards when available - built-in Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) - quad-band world phone: EGDE/GPRS/GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)

Moreover, the new handset is a world phone, and will provide users with access to the BlackBerry App World, where different software solutions included in categories like games, entertainment, social networking and sharing, news and weather, productivity and much more can be found. The device also comes with support for the BlackBerry Internet Service, which will deliver access to up to 10 email accounts, including Yahoo!, Windows Live Hotmail, AOL and Gmail. The BlackBerry Media Sync, also available with the BlackBerry Curve 8520, enables users to easily sync music from iTunes or Windows Media Player.
