Along with BES and BIS, on MTS' airwaves

Canadian mobile phone maker Research in Motion and Mobile TeleSystems OJSC announced recently the launch of the BlackBerry Curve 8520 in Russia, and the availability of the device through all MTS shops in the country. The new mobile phone has been released on the carrier's airwaves both for end users and for corporate customers, and it sports the price tag of 12,500 rubles.

The new BlackBerry Curve 8520 comes to the market with a slim form factor, can deliver great connectivity options, including access to email, messaging (IM, SMS, MMS) and social networking sites (including popular ones like Facebook and MySpace), while also sporting a highly tactile full-QWERTY keyboard. In addition, the BlackBerry smartphone includes great multimedia capabilities, as well as support for games and other mobile applications aimed at entertaining users.

The BlackBerry Curve 8520, as many of you might already know, has been launched as a world phone, sports Wi-Fi connectivity options, and can deliver a great Internet browsing experience, as well as fast data downloads. The handset also comes with a sensitive trackpad, as well as with dedicated media keys, which have been integrated on the top of the handset. At the same time, we should mention that the device is launched on MTS along with the already popular BlackBerry services, namely the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, meant for corporate customers, and the BlackBerry Internet Service, aimed at smaller businesses and individual users.

Some of the main features the new BlackBerry Curve 8520 comes with include: - 256 MB Flash memory and a 512 Mhz next generation processor for enhanced performance - Premium phone features including voice activated dialing, and Bluetooth (2.0), with support for hands-free headsets, car kits, stereo headsets and other Bluetooth peripherals - 2 MP digital camera with zoom and video recording - Advanced media player for music, pictures and videos, with dedicated media keys and a 3.5 mm stereo headset jack, plus BlackBerry Media Sync, which makes it easy to quickly sync music from iTunes or Windows Media Player with the smartphone - Expandable memory via hot swappable microSD/SDHC memory card slot, supporting up to 16 GB cards today and expected to support next generation 32 GB cards when available; a 2 GB card is included - Quad-band world phone: EGDE/GPRS/GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) - Removable/rechargeable battery with approximately 4.5 hrs. of talk time and 17 days of standby.
