Wireless carrier Boost Mobile announced today the availability on its airwaves of yet another appealing smartphone for its users, the BlackBerry Curve 8330. The company announced not too long ago that it would add the device to its offering, and now all went official. Moreover, the carrier also revealed that the smartphone debuted today on its BlackBerry Monthly Unlimited plan, and that the launch shows its commitment to offer its customers what they are asking for.

“The addition of BlackBerry Curve 8330 to Boost Mobile’s broadening line-up of handsets squashes the misconception that ‘no contract’ cell phones and service are low-end,” said Neil Lindsay, chief marketing officer, Sprint Prepaid Group. “A BlackBerry smartphone with BlackBerry Monthly Unlimited service from Boost Mobile is ideal for highly-connected and productivity-minded customers who do not want to sign a long-term service contract.”

The new device comes to Boost Mobile's airwaves with a nice range of features, including Web browsing capabilities, social networking, not to mention that it will also deliver unlimited talk, text and Web when coupled with a no-contract Monthly Unlimited plan from Boost Mobile. Moreover, with BlackBerry Curve 8330, users will also enjoy access to music, videos, games, email or downloadable applications via the BlackBerry App World, the carrier notes.

The specifications list of the handset also shows:
- 3G speeds where available
- Full QWERTY Keypad & Trackball Navigation
- 2MP Camera with Flash, Zoom and Video recording
- Media Player with Standard Audio Jack
- 1GB microSD Card included (supports up to 8GB)
- Stereo Bluetooth Capable
- Multi-Media, Text and Instant Messaging
- GPS and Wireless Web-Enabled
- Speakerphone

The BlackBerry Curve 8330 smartphone is now available for Boost Mobile's customers for a price tag of $249.99 (excluding taxes), and can be purchased from Best Buy, RadioShack and Boost Mobile Exclusive Retail Stores, as well as from select independent wireless dealer locations. The BlackBerry Monthly Unlimited plan will offer users unlimited voice, texts, 3G Web access and unlimited email for only $60 per month on the Nationwide Sprint Network.

A nice smartphone is never as good when the network is not great that is why I have a Straight Talk Samsung Finesse touchscreen which runs on Verizon's network nationwide which Consumer reports named the best network in America. I don't have to pay as much either because unlimited everything is only $45 per month for me, even when I have a touchscreen.

Well Penny...how would you know how good Boost Mobile is? I have had Alltel and then they switched to Verizon. Had Alltel for over 7 years and then when it switched to Verizon, the service started to suck, dropped calls, and very rude tech support and customer service. Then, I heard about Boost Mobile, switched to them...I've got unlimited everything (INCLUDING walkie-talkie...which Verizon doesn't have a very good version of). So why are you commenting on a Blackberry review for Boost Mobile? Nobody wants to hear about Straight Talk...they are her e to tell their opinion of this phone offered from Boost...not to look at advertisement and disses from someone who is trying to promote another phone service. Sounds to me like you work for them...if not, I would try to get a paycheck for advertising their service for them.

This plan includes unlimited walkie talkie too right? Because it doesn't say anything about that.

I SWITCHED TO THIS PHONE/SERVICE ON FRIDAY AND I LUV IT!

I HAVE A GREAT SIGNAL, AND I LIVE IN A RURAL AREA.
I HAD THE 50 DOLLAR UNLIMITED WITH THE WALKIE-TALKIE UP TO THIS POINT, AND IT SUCKED WHERE I LIVED (NO SIGNAL INSIDE THE HOUSE, DROPPED CALLS, ETC)

THE NON-SIM, NON-WALKIE TALKIE UNLIMITED BY BOOST IS EXCELLENT.

I left Verizon November 2009 for Boost Mobile and I initially bought the Motorola Clutch. The phone was good but all of a sudden, I started having texting issues with it; it would save texts in the Outbox and I started having to finagle them out, if people got the texts at all, they were out of sort or sent duplicately ... well, it was just a hassle. I went to Best Buy yesterday and picked up the Blackberry Curve and I really like it so far. The texting is so much easier, it has more of a chat format .. well, it's only one day in .. but, I did notice that the Blackberry doesn't hold reception in my house as well as the other phone. Maybe it's because of the carrier? The Boost Mobile Rep said that the Blackberry runs off of a Sprint digital signal and the Clutch was on the Nextel analog. Anyway, I wanted to leave this review and tell you that Best Buy (I bought the warranty for both phones, it was $20 for the Clutch and $40 for the Blackberry) but for 2 years, the phone is covered they refunded the $100 I paid for the Clutch and I just handed them the phone and the charger .. to me, that was worth $20 to save me from the phone-exchange-drama that I would have had to deal with if I had Verizon. Boost Mobile customer service is great as well. I haven't been on hold for longer than 5 minutes for any reason and the people don't talk to me like I'm an idiot or a hassle. I really feel that Boost Mobile is a good deal.

I have had Boost Mobile in the past and it wasn't too shabby. I now have Verizon... I'm not too happy with my service!! With verizon I have the cheapest plan available and I'm paying $83.99 every month. I only have unlimited texting.. what a rip-off! In a short few months I plan to head back to boost and purchase the, BlackBerry smart phone! I'm very exited. Boost has everything I need, unlimited everything

I've had the Blackberry curve 8330 and i like the features on it, but i hate the towers. i can't ever get a good signal and i cant even browse and watch videos on youtube. every time i watch a music video, my signal goes haywire and interrupts my videos which makes it skip really bad, i cant send pics cause half of the time they never go through even on a full signal. i think i might have gotten a defective signal but i don't understand why i have boost mobile and at the same time have it run off from sprints towers. i want Nextel's towers not the * sprint's towers. can anyone tell me why the blackberry curve for boost mobile runs off from sprint's towers? shouldn't they run off from Nextel's?

Greetings. I have been with Boost Mobile for a couple years now. I love their customer service... and you can request to speak with their blackberry specialists...longer wait but well worth it. They seem very knowledgeable. They can even reset your blackberry for you. I started out with a clutch...and upgraded to the Blackberry curve 8330. i loved it....absolutely adored the blackberry apps...well worth the extra $10 a month. Pandora's web radio was my favorite and was free! Only problem was boost blackberry didn't seem to offer enough internal memory to use all the apps you might want! My sister's Sprint blackberry had triple the memory...but hers wasn't prepaid. My phone only lasted for 8 months before trackball stopped working... i simply went back to using my clutch. I've done alot of research looking for better prepaid unlimited service and can't find one better than boost...that still offers great customer service. I'm waiting on tax refund to buy the 8550...thank goodness they now offer insurance for extra $5 a month!
