Orange UK is now offering a new version of BlackBerry Curve 8320, more exactly a Black Emerald one, which makes the 8320 look really good (not that the other available colors look bad). The new 8320 can be acquired from Orange even for free, in case you want a contract agreement for two years and a data plan of at least 35 GBP ($70 or 44 Euros) per month.
Initially released by RIM only in two colors (Titanium and Pale Gold), the 8320 smartphone will have, in the end, four color versions, as, besides the Black Emerald one, there's also a Sunset Red edition, which should be available later this year in the US, offered by T-Mobile.
The third smarpthone from RIM's Curve series, BlackBerry 8320 weighs 111 grams, measures 107 x 60 x 15.5 millimeters and packs a wide range of business-oriented features. These include: push-email, full HTML browser, Wi-Fi, BlackBerry Maps, a full QWERTY keyboard, Instant Messaging, trackball navigation, organizer, voice dialing, handsfree and To Do list. Furthermore, the 8320 brings a square 320 x 240 pixel display, Music and Video players, a 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, a 2 Megapixel camera with flash and video recording, miniUSB, 64MB of internal memory and microSD card support.
The battery included in BlackBerry Curve 8320 is an 1100 mAh Li-Ion one that should be able to keep the handset functional for up to 4 hours in talk-time mode and up to 408 hours in stand-by mode.
In case you don't like the new Black Emerald Curve 8320, Orange UK is also offering the titanium version of the smartphone (but for the moment it's out of stock).
Currently the fourth largest mobile operator in the UK (after O2, Vodafone and T-Mobile), Orange also has RIM's BlackBerry 8820 and BlackBerry 8120 in its line-up of smartphones.
