Vodafone gets the most evolved Curve

Vodafone has just introduced the new BlackBerry Curve 8310 on the German market. The device holds built-in GPS navigation and several other evolved performances.

Probably the most important feature about this smartphone is definitely that of providing GPS functionality. The handset will use a pre-installed Vodafone Navigator software for interacting with the user. It will display the user's precise location on a local map and also integrate directly with his personal address book. Actually, Vodafone Navigator is an off-board navigation system, which downloads route planning information from an up-to-date central server.

BlackBerry Curve 8310 comes packed with the most evolved solutions for business communication and personal solutions too. It has a 2 megapixel camera, which will bring images of an only average quality, although it has 5x digital zoom and LED flash for extra sharpness. Still, this is not the handset's strong point, so it's not that much of a problem.

Photos can be sent through email and MMS with little efforts coming from the user. The phone also supports Bluetooth and mini-USB connectivity and is also capable of playing MP3 files. The 64Mb of internal memory will surely prove to be insufficient for storing all personal data on this smartphone, which gives good reason for the microSD card slot which is capable of supporting up to 4Gb.

The QWERTY keypad makes it considerably easy to edit Mobile Office files. This allows the user to take work outside of the office and handle it with the help of internet and telecom connections.

BlackBerry Curve 8310 will be available from now on in Germany at Vodafone stores for 100 euros, in combination with a Vodafone Business Kombipaket Zuhause 240 pack. There is also a special offer with the launch of this smartphone. Vodafone Germany will give for the first 5,000 customers a 1 GB microSD memory card with the current 100 top chart songs pre-installed as MP3s.
