Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion has just announced the release of a new BlackBerry Curve 3G model on the market in Malaysia, namely the Curve 9300. According to the company, the new solution should prove a great addition to the popular BlackBerry Curve series of smartphones. The BlackBerry Curve 3G lands on shelves with support for high-speed 3G (HSDPA) networks and is a world phone, the company announced.

Among the main features of Curve 9300, we can count great communications features, complemented by an affordable price tag, as the device was designed to offer masses the possibility to tryout the BlackBerry solution.

According to RIM, the new handset should be able to offer users the possibility to accomplish what they need to regardless the place where they are, whether at home, at work or on the go.

“The BlackBerry Curve 3G is both an accessible and feature-rich smartphone which will be popular with customers in Malaysia who highly value communications and productivity tools that help them get ahead of their day,” Gregory Wade, Managing Director, South East Asia, RIM, commented.

The specifications list of the new handset includes a QWERTY keyboard, complemented by an optical trackpad, dedicated media keys, and built-in GPS and Wi-Fi receivers.

Moreover, the new device comes with a microSD/SDHC slot that offers support for up to 32GB of external storage space via compatible memory cards.

“With the ability to connect to 3G and Wi-Fi networks, users can access information and communicate quickly with the people that matter, as well as take advantage of useful features like built-in GPS to share their location on BBM and social networking sites,” Wade concluded.

The BlackBerry Curve 3G runs under BlackBerry 5 and is BlackBerry 6 ready, RIM announced.

The new flavor of the OS comes with about the same features as the previous platform version, but with a new UI, and should land on BlackBerry Curve 3G within a matter of months.

The new BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 smartphone should become available for purchase in Malaysia sometime in September, RIM concluded.
